Common issues with the Vauxhall Zafira Life's cooling system

I've been having problems with my Vauxhall Zafira Life's cooling system. The engine tends to overheat and the temperature gauge spikes up frequently. I've checked the coolant levels and they seem fine. What could be causing this issue?

Hi John, the most common cause for overheating in Vauxhall Zafira Life is a faulty thermostat. It is responsible for regulating the engine's temperature and if it is stuck, it can cause the engine to overheat. I would recommend getting the thermostat checked and replaced if necessary.

Another possible cause could be a leak in the cooling system. This can cause the coolant levels to drop and result in overheating. It could be a small leak that is hard to detect, so I suggest getting the system pressure tested to find the exact source of the leak.

In some cases, an overheating engine can also be due to a malfunctioning water pump. If the pump is not circulating enough coolant through the engine, it can lead to overheating. I would recommend getting the pump checked and replaced if necessary.
