How can I fix the unresponsive touchscreen in my Vauxhall Insignia?

I recently purchased a used Vauxhall Insignia and noticed that the touchscreen is unresponsive. It was working fine when I test drove the car, but now it won't even turn on. What could be causing this issue and how can I fix it?

First, try resetting the infotainment system by pressing and holding down the power button for 10 seconds. If that doesn't work, check to see if there are any loose connections or damaged wiring behind the screen. If everything looks okay, it could be a software issue, in which case you may need to take it to a mechanic.

It's possible that the screen is just dirty or has fingerprint smudges, which is causing it to not register your touches. Use a soft, dry cloth to gently clean the screen and see if that helps. If not, it could be a malfunction with the touch sensor and you may need to get it replaced.

I had this same issue with my Insignia and it turned out to be a faulty sensor. I ended up having to take it to a dealership to get it fixed. If you're still under warranty, it should be covered. Otherwise, it can be a bit pricey.
