How do I change the battery in a Vauxhall Astra?

I've noticed that my car is having trouble starting and suspect it's because the battery needs to be replaced. How do I go about changing the battery in my Vauxhall Astra?

First, make sure your engine is turned off and the bonnet is open. Locate the battery, which is typically located near the front of the engine. Usually, there will be a latch or clasp that you can release to remove the battery cover.

Once you've located the battery, carefully disconnect the negative cable first by loosening the clamp and removing it from the terminal. Then, do the same with the positive cable.

Next, use a wrench or socket to remove the battery hold-down bolt and hold down bar, if applicable. Lift the battery out of the compartment and place it on a level surface.
