I recently noticed that my car wouldn't start and after checking, I realized that my battery needs to be replaced. I've never changed a car battery before, so I'm not sure where to start. Can someone walk me through the steps to change the battery in my Vauxhall Mokka? Thanks in advance!
ReplyHi John! Changing the battery in your Vauxhall Mokka is actually a simple process. First, make sure your car is turned off and the key is removed from the ignition. Then, locate the battery under the hood of your car. It should be near the front, on the side of the engine.
Next, you'll need to loosen the negative terminal on the battery. This means you'll need to use a wrench to loosen the nut that is holding the black cable onto the battery. Be sure to hold onto the nut as you loosen it, so it doesn't fall into the engine!
Once the negative terminal is loose, do the same thing for the positive terminal, which should be red. Be sure to keep the terminals separated so they don't touch each other.
After the terminals are removed, you can now remove the battery from its compartment. It might be a little heavy, so be careful when lifting it out. Clean the terminals and the inside of the battery compartment before placing the new battery in.
