I just bought a Vauxhall Movano and I want to make sure my tires are properly inflated. Can anyone walk me through the steps of checking the tire pressure and what the recommended pressure should be?
ReplyFirst, you'll need a tire pressure gauge. You can find one at any auto parts store. Once you have the gauge, unscrew the valve stem cap on your tire. Place the gauge onto the valve stem and make sure it's pressed on tightly. The gauge will give you a reading of the current tire pressure. If it's too low, use an air compressor to fill it to the recommended amount.
I recommend checking your tire pressure at least once a month. Not only does under-inflated tires lead to poor gas mileage, but it can also cause uneven tire wear and even blowouts. Keep a tire pressure gauge in your vehicle for regular maintenance.
