How do I fix the windscreen wipers on my Vauxhall Insignia?

My Vauxhall Insignia's windscreen wipers have suddenly stopped working. There's no noise when I try to turn them on and they don't seem to have any power. What could be the problem and how can I fix it?

C

First, check the fuse for the windscreen wipers in your car's fuse box. If it's blown, replace it. If that's not the issue, it could be a problem with the wiper motor.

S

Try cleaning the wiper blades with rubbing alcohol. Sometimes they can get dirty and not make proper contact with the windscreen, causing them to not work properly.

B

It's possible that the wiring for the wiper motor has become detached. You may need to take your car to a mechanic to have it properly reconnected.

D

If you live in a cold climate, ice can sometimes build up on the wiper blades and cause them to not work. Make sure to clear any ice from the blades before using them.
