How do I know if my Vauxhall Corsa's engine is over-heated?

I recently bought a second-hand Vauxhall Corsa and I've noticed that the engine gets quite hot while driving. I'm not sure if this is normal or if there is an issue with the cooling system. How can I tell if the engine is over-heating and what should I do about it?

If your engine temperature gauge is showing higher than normal, or if you notice steam or smoke coming from the engine, these are signs that your engine may be over-heating. You should pull over and turn off the engine immediately to avoid causing further damage.

Another way to check if your engine is over-heating is to open the hood and visually inspect the engine. If you see any leaks or puddles of coolant, this could be a sign of an issue with the cooling system. It's best to take your car to a mechanic for further diagnosis.

One thing you can do to help prevent your engine from over-heating is to keep an eye on your coolant levels. If they are consistently low, you may have a leak in the system. Be sure to also follow your car's recommended maintenance schedule, as this can help prevent potential issues.
