I recently bought a Vauxhall Crossland and the headlight beam seems to be too high, blinding the oncoming drivers. How can I adjust it?
ReplyFirst, locate the headlight adjustment screw under the hood. It is usually a small knob or a screw attached to the headlight assembly. Then, park your car on a flat surface facing a wall and turn on your headlights. Use a ruler or a tape measure to check the distance between the ground and the center of your headlights' beam. If it is above 2 feet, you need to lower the beam.
To adjust the beam, turn the adjustment screw in a clockwise direction to lower the beam and counter-clockwise to raise it. Make sure to adjust both headlights equally. Once you have the beam at the desired height, turn off the headlights and double check with the ruler or tape measure. It may take a few adjustments to get it right.
