I recently bought a used Vauxhall Insignia and want to make sure the oil level is correct. Can anyone guide me on how to check it?
ReplyTo check the oil level on your Vauxhall Insignia, first make sure the car is on a flat surface and the engine is off. Locate the dipstick, usually a brightly colored handle, and pull it out. Wipe it clean with a cloth and then reinsert it back in. Pull it out again and check where the oil level reaches on the dipstick. It should be between the 'low' and 'full' marks. If it is low, add the required type of motor oil. If you're not sure which one to use, consult your owner's manual. It's also a good idea to check the oil level regularly, especially before long trips.
Another way to check your oil level is by using the car's onboard computer. On the instrument panel, you should see a button that looks like an engine oil can. Press and hold it for a few seconds until the oil level is displayed on the screen. If it is low, follow the instructions to add oil. This is a quick and easy way to check your oil level, but it is recommended to also manually check it every now and then.
