How to reset the trip computer on Vauxhall Insignia?

I just got a used Vauxhall Insignia and the previous owner did not reset the trip computer, how do I reset it to measure my own fuel economy and distance?

To reset the trip computer on your Vauxhall Insignia, first locate the trip computer button on the instrument panel. Press and hold the button until the trip computer display begins to flash. Once the display starts flashing, release the button and the trip computer will be reset to zero.

Another way to reset the trip computer is by disconnecting the car battery for a few minutes and then reconnecting it. Keep in mind that this may also reset other settings on your car such as radio presets.

If you want to save your previous trip data before resetting the trip computer, you can simply write down the numbers displayed before resetting and manually input them after the reset.
