Is it normal for my Vauxhall Movano to make a loud humming noise while in reverse?

I recently purchased a Vauxhall Movano and I’ve noticed that it makes a loud humming noise when I put it in reverse. Is this something I should be concerned about?

Yes, it is completely normal for your Vauxhall Movano to make a humming noise while in reverse. This is due to the reverse gear being designed with straight-cut gears, which can produce a higher level of noise compared to other gears. However, if the noise becomes excessive or sounds abnormal, it is recommended to have it checked by a certified mechanic.

I’ve had my Vauxhall Movano for a few months now and have also noticed the same noise while in reverse. After doing some research and speaking with my mechanic, I’ve learned that this is a common issue with this model. The best thing to do is to keep an eye on it and if you notice any changes or unusual noises, have it checked out.

I’ve been driving Vauxhall Movano vans for years and have never experienced this issue. It’s likely that there could be a loose component or a worn out bearing causing the noise. I would advise taking it to a trusted mechanic to have it looked at just to be on the safe side.
