What could be causing my Vauxhall Astra's engine to overheat?

My Vauxhall Astra's temperature gauge keeps going into the red zone. I've checked the coolant levels and they seem to be fine. What else could be causing this issue?

It's also important to check for any leaks in the cooling system, as this could be causing the issue. If you notice any leaks, make sure to have them repaired immediately.

It's possible that the problem could be with the radiator. If the radiator is clogged or damaged, it could be preventing proper cooling of the engine. Have it inspected and replaced if needed.

In some cases, a faulty head gasket can cause engine overheating. If you notice white smoke coming from the exhaust or the coolant mixing with the engine oil, this could be the cause. It's important to have this repaired as soon as possible to avoid further damage.

The most common cause of engine overheating in a Vauxhall Astra is a faulty thermostat. I would recommend getting it checked and replaced if needed.

Another possible cause could be a malfunctioning water pump. Have a mechanic check it out and replace if necessary.
