What does the 'Lane Keep Assist' feature in the Vauxhall Crossland do?

I've noticed that my Vauxhall Crossland has a 'Lane Keep Assist' feature. What exactly does it do and how does it work?

The 'Lane Keep Assist' feature uses a camera to detect lane markings and helps to keep your vehicle in the middle of the lane. It will gently steer your vehicle back into the lane if you start to drift out of it.

In addition to helping you stay in your lane, the 'Lane Keep Assist' feature also provides a visual and audible warning if you start to unintentionally drift out of your lane.
