I have noticed that the 'MPV' light keeps turning on and off on my Vauxhall Mokka. What does this mean and should I be concerned?
ReplyThe 'MPV' light typically stands for 'Multi-Purpose Vehicle'. This light indicates that you have switched to a specific driving mode, such as towing or hauling heavy loads. It's nothing to be concerned about. It's simply a reminder that your vehicle is performing in a different capacity at that time. You can refer to your owner's manual for more information on this feature.
The 'MPV' light can also stand for 'Maintenance Powertrain Vehicle'. This could mean that there is an issue with your vehicle's powertrain, such as loss of power or difficulty shifting gears. If this light stays on or flashes continuously, it's best to take your Vauxhall Mokka to a mechanic for further diagnostics. Ignoring this warning could lead to further damage to your vehicle.
Don't worry too much about the 'MPV' light. This light can also indicate that your vehicle is in 'Manual Mode' and you have manually shifted from 'Drive' to another gear. If you didn't intentionally do this, it could be a malfunction in the shift lever. Make sure to check your gear position and reset it if needed.
