What is causing my Vauxhall Zafira Life to make a strange noise when I turn on the air conditioning?

Whenever I turn on the air conditioning in my Vauxhall Zafira Life, there is a strange noise coming from the engine. It doesn't happen when the AC is off, so I'm not sure what is causing it. Is this a common issue and how can I fix it?

It sounds like the issue could be related to your AC compressor or fan belt. It's important to get this checked out by a mechanic as having a faulty compressor can cause further damage to your engine. I would recommend taking your car to a trusted mechanic to diagnose and fix the issue.

One possible cause for the noise could be a loose or damaged belt. Check to see if the belt is visibly worn out or cracked. If so, it will need to be replaced. However, if the belt looks fine, the issue could be with the compressor. Have a mechanic take a look and they will be able to properly diagnose and fix the issue.

It is not uncommon for older cars, like the Vauxhall Zafira Life, to make noises when the AC is turned on. It could be a sign that the AC system is low on refrigerant and needs to be recharged. I would recommend taking your car to a mechanic to have the AC system inspected and recharged if necessary.
