What is causing the high pitched noise in my Vauxhall Astra?

I recently noticed a high pitched noise coming from my Vauxhall Astra whenever I accelerate above 50 mph. It seems to be coming from the engine area. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

The high pitched noise could be caused by a number of things, such as a loose belt or a malfunctioning pulley. It's best to take your car to a mechanic to diagnose the problem and fix it properly.

Make sure to check your engine oil and transmission fluid levels. Low levels can cause strange noises in the engine. If your fluids are low, top them off and see if the noise goes away. If not, it's best to get your car checked by a professional.

The problem could also be with the exhaust system. A leak or hole can cause a high pitched noise. Take your car to a mechanic to have them check the exhaust system for any issues.
