Why does my Vauxhall Astra make a grinding noise when turning?

I have a Vauxhall Astra and it recently started making a grinding noise when I turn the steering wheel. It's not constant, but happens most often when I'm making a sharper turn. What could be causing this issue?

It sounds like you may have a problem with your power steering system. You should have it checked by a mechanic as soon as possible to avoid any further damage.

Check your power steering fluid levels first, as low fluid can cause grinding noises. If that doesn't fix the issue, it may be a problem with the steering rack. It's best to have a professional diagnose and repair the issue.

I had a similar issue and it turns out my wheel bearings were worn out. You should have them inspected to see if they need to be replaced.
