Why does my Vauxhall Astra's engine shake at idle?

I have a Vauxhall Astra and recently noticed that the engine shakes when the car is idle. This only seems to happen when the engine is cold. Once the engine warms up, the shaking stops. What could be causing this and should I be concerned?

Hi Samantha, it's not uncommon for Vauxhall Astra's to experience shaking at idle when the engine is cold. This is usually caused by a dirty or faulty idle air control valve. It's recommended to have this valve cleaned or replaced to prevent any further issues.

Hey Samantha, another possible cause for the shaking could be a misfiring spark plug. Try checking and replacing your spark plugs if needed. This should help improve the engine's idle and reduce shaking.

Hi Samantha, have you checked your engine mounts? If one of the mounts is damaged or worn out, it could cause the engine to shake. It's best to have a mechanic inspect them and replace if needed.
