Why does my Vauxhall Insignia's engine light come on?

I own a Vauxhall Insignia and recently the engine light has been coming on frequently. I'm worried there may be a serious issue with my car. What could be causing this and what should I do?

It could be a range of issues causing the engine light to come on, from a loose gas cap to a faulty oxygen sensor. The best course of action would be to take your car to a trusted mechanic for a diagnostic test. They will be able to pinpoint the exact issue and provide an appropriate solution.

I had a similar issue with my Vauxhall Insignia and it turned out to be a faulty EGR valve. It's a relatively easy fix and not too expensive. I would recommend getting it checked out sooner rather than later to avoid any potential engine damage.

If you recently filled up your gas tank, the engine light may have come on due to a loose gas cap. Try tightening it and see if the light goes off. If not, then there may be a more serious issue that needs to be addressed by a professional.
