Why does my Vauxhall Insignia's engine make a knocking noise?

I have noticed that my Vauxhall Insignia's engine has started making a knocking noise. It seems to happen when the car is idling or when I am accelerating. Is this something I should be concerned about? What could be causing this noise? Is there any way I can fix it myself?

The knocking noise in your engine could be caused by a number of issues such as worn engine bearings, faulty spark plugs, or a malfunctioning fuel injector. It is important to address this issue as soon as possible as it could potentially lead to more serious problems if left unattended.

Make sure to check the oil level in your engine. Low oil can also cause a knocking noise. If the oil level is low, top it up to the recommended level and see if the noise persists. If it does, it could indicate a more serious issue.

It is best to take your Vauxhall Insignia to a certified mechanic for a thorough inspection. They will be able to diagnose the issue and provide a proper solution. Trying to fix it yourself could potentially cause more harm than good.
