Why does my Vauxhall Mokka's engine rev up and down?

I've noticed that when driving my Vauxhall Mokka, the engine sometimes revs up and down without me pressing the gas pedal. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

This could be caused by a few different things. It could be an issue with the fuel system, such as a clogged fuel filter or a malfunctioning fuel pump. It could also be a problem with the air intake system, such as a dirty air filter or a vacuum leak. I would recommend taking your car to a trusted mechanic to diagnose and fix the issue.

I've seen this issue before and it could be a problem with the throttle body. The throttle body controls the air flow into the engine and if it's dirty or malfunctioning, it can cause erratic engine revving. Try using a throttle body cleaner to see if that helps. If not, it may need to be replaced.

I had a similar issue with my Vauxhall Mokka and it turned out to be a faulty idle air control valve. This component helps regulate the engine's idle speed. I would suggest having it checked and replaced if necessary.
