Why is my Vauxhall Astra making a strange noise?

I've noticed that my Vauxhall Astra is making a strange noise when I turn the ignition. It sounds like a grinding or scratching noise. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

The most likely cause of this noise is a worn out starter motor. Over time, the internal components of the starter motor can wear down and cause these types of noises. I would recommend taking your vehicle to a trusted mechanic to have it inspected and replaced if necessary.

Another possible cause could be a loose or damaged exhaust system. If any parts of the exhaust system are loose or damaged, it can cause strange noises while driving. I would suggest having your exhaust system inspected and repaired if needed.

Have you recently changed your oil? If so, it's possible that the oil filter was not tightened properly or the wrong filter was used. This can cause abnormal noises in the engine. Check the oil filter and replace if necessary.
