Why is my Vauxhall Astra's engine light on?

I recently noticed that the engine light on my Vauxhall Astra is constantly on. I've checked the engine oil and it seems to be at the right level. What could be causing this and how do I fix it?

A constantly lit engine light can indicate a number of issues, including a faulty sensor or an emissions problem. It's best to take your Astra to a certified mechanic for a diagnostic check to pinpoint the exact issue.

I had the same issue with my Astra and it turned out to be a faulty oxygen sensor. The mechanic replaced it and the light went off. Make sure to get a thorough check to avoid any more potential problems.

It's possible that the engine light is on due to a loose fuel cap. Try tightening it and see if the light goes off. If it doesn't, then it's best to take it in for a diagnostic check.
