First of all, check your coolant levels. If they are low, this could be a sign of a leak or a faulty radiator. It's important to address this issue right away to prevent any further damage to your engine.

Another possibility could be a malfunctioning thermostat. This can cause the engine to overheat if it's stuck closed. It's important to have this checked and replaced if necessary.

If you notice that the engine is only overheating when you're stuck in traffic, it could be a problem with the fan. The fan may not be turning on properly and therefore not cooling down the engine.

In some cases, a clogged radiator can also cause overheating issues. This can be due to dirt and debris getting stuck inside or a buildup of rust. It's recommended to have your radiator flushed and cleaned regularly to prevent this.
