It is most likely caused by worn out engine bearings or connecting rods. It's important to have this checked and fixed as soon as possible, as it can lead to further damage to the engine.

Have you recently changed your oil? Using the wrong type of oil or not changing it regularly can also cause knocking noises in the engine. Make sure to use the recommended oil for your Vauxhall Corsa and change it according to the manufacturer's guidelines.

Check your spark plugs and ignition coils. Faulty spark plugs can cause the engine to knock. Replace any faulty components to see if it solves the issue.
