Why is my Vauxhall Insignia emitting a strange noise when I turn on the engine?

I recently purchased a Vauxhall Insignia and noticed that whenever I turn on the engine, there is a strange noise coming from the front of the car. It almost sounds like a rattling or grinding noise. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

It sounds like your starter motor might be failing. It's a good idea to get it checked by a mechanic as soon as possible to avoid any further damage.

You may need to replace your serpentine belt. This belt is responsible for powering multiple components in your car, including the starter motor. If it's worn or damaged, it can cause unusual noises.

It could also be an issue with your alternator. If it's not functioning properly, it can cause strange noises and potentially lead to a dead battery.

I had the same issue with my Insignia and it turned out to be a loose exhaust pipe. Have a look under your car and check for any loose or damaged pipes.

A loose or faulty engine mount can also cause strange noises when starting the car. I recommend getting it inspected by a mechanic.
