I recently bought a used Vauxhall Insignia with manual transmission and I've noticed that it makes a strange rattling noise whenever I change gears. It's especially noticeable in lower gears and can be quite loud. I'm concerned that it might be a sign of a bigger issue, but I'm not sure what could be causing it. Has anyone else experienced this issue and have any advice on what I should do?
ReplyHi Emma, I had a similar issue with my Vauxhall Insignia and it turned out to be a loose or worn out gearbox mount. I would recommend taking your car to a trusted mechanic and having them take a look at it. They should be able to diagnose and fix the problem for you.
Hi Emma, I had the same problem with my Insignia and after getting it checked, it turned out to be a loose exhaust bracket. It was an easy fix and the noise went away after it was tightened back up.
Hello Emma, I've owned a few Vauxhall cars and have encountered a similar issue before. In my case, it was due to a worn out gear linkage. This is a relatively easy fix and can be done at home if you have some mechanical knowledge. Just make sure to use genuine Vauxhall parts for the replacement.
