Why is my Vauxhall Insignia making a strange sound when I brake?

I've noticed that when I press on the brake pedal in my Vauxhall Insignia, there is a strange grinding noise coming from the wheels. It only happens when I'm braking at low speeds. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

There are a few potential reasons for this noise. It could be due to worn brake pads or rotors, a faulty wheel bearing, or debris caught in the brake system. It's important to have it checked by a mechanic to determine the exact cause.

If the noise only occurs when the car is in motion, it could be a sign of worn brake pads. If the noise is present even when the car is stationary, it could be a problem with the wheel bearing. Either way, it's best to have a professional inspect it to avoid any potential safety issues.

In the meantime, you can try lightly pumping the brakes a few times before coming to a complete stop. This can help to dislodge any debris that may be causing the noise. However, this should only be a temporary solution and you should still get it checked out by a mechanic.
