First, check your engine oil level and make sure it is at the recommended level. If it is low, top it up with the correct type of oil. If the oil level is normal, it could be an issue with the oil pressure sensor. It's best to take your car to a mechanic for further diagnosis and repair.

The engine oil light can also come on if there is a problem with the oil pump. You may need to replace the oil pump if it is not functioning properly. Again, it's best to consult a mechanic for this issue.

In some cases, the engine oil light can be triggered by a faulty oil pressure switch. It's a relatively inexpensive part to replace, so it's worth checking with your mechanic if this could be the cause.
