Why is my Vauxhall Mokka's fuel consumption high?

I have noticed that my Vauxhall Mokka's fuel consumption has been quite high lately. I have been driving it in the same way as before, so I am not sure why this is happening. Is there anything I can do to improve my fuel efficiency?

Hi Jamie, there could be a few reasons why your fuel consumption has increased. One possibility is that there is an issue with your vehicle's air filter, which can impact fuel efficiency. It may be worth having it checked and replaced if necessary. Additionally, make sure to regularly check and maintain your tire pressure, as under-inflated tires can also contribute to higher fuel consumption. Lastly, your driving habits may have changed without you realizing it, such as idling for longer or accelerating more aggressively. Pay attention to your driving habits and try to make any necessary adjustments.

Hey Jamie, have you recently switched to a different type of fuel? This could also be a factor in your higher fuel consumption. Make sure you are using the recommended fuel type for your vehicle. Additionally, keep in mind that driving at higher speeds and in stop-and-go traffic can also decrease fuel efficiency. This could be a contributing factor if you have been doing more highway driving or have been stuck in traffic more often lately.

Hi Jamie, it could also be worth checking your vehicle's fuel injectors. If they are dirty or clogged, they can affect fuel efficiency. Having them cleaned or replaced can improve your fuel consumption. Additionally, keeping up with regular maintenance such as oil changes and tune-ups can also help improve fuel efficiency. You may also want to consider reducing any excess weight in your vehicle, such as removing unnecessary items from the trunk.
