Why is my Vauxhall Vivaro stalling when I drive in reverse?

I have recently noticed that my Vauxhall Vivaro is stalling whenever I try to drive in reverse. This only seems to happen when the van is cold, as once it warms up the issue resolves itself. Why is this happening and is there anything I can do to prevent it?

Hi Sarah, stalling in reverse can be caused by a variety of factors. Some common culprits could be a dirty air filter, a faulty fuel pump, or even a worn out transmission. I recommend bringing your van to a mechanic to have it diagnosed and fixed.

Hey Sarah, I had a similar issue with my Vivaro and it turned out to be a problem with the throttle body. Cleaning it solved the problem, but if that doesn't work for you, it might be a good idea to have a mechanic take a look.

Hi Sarah, I had this issue with my Vivaro and it turned out to be a faulty oxygen sensor. If you've been noticing a decrease in fuel efficiency, this could be the cause. It's an easy fix, but make sure to have it fixed as soon as possible to avoid any further issues.
