Why is my Vauxhall Zafira Life making a squeaking noise when I turn the steering wheel?

I have noticed that when I turn the steering wheel in my Vauxhall Zafira Life, there is a high-pitched squeaking noise. It seems to happen more when the car is cold or has been sitting for a while. What could be causing this and is it something I need to fix immediately?

It is possible that there is an issue with the power steering system. It could be a loose belt or low fluid levels causing the noise. I would recommend checking the power steering fluid level and topping it up if necessary. If the noise persists, it's best to take it to a mechanic for further inspection.

Another possible cause could be worn out or loose suspension components. This can also cause a high-pitched squeaking noise when turning the steering wheel. I suggest having a mechanic check and replace any worn out parts if necessary.

If the noise only happens when the car is cold, it could be due to a worn out or dry steering column. Applying some lubricant to the steering column can help reduce or eliminate the noise. However, if the noise persists, it's best to have a professional take a look at it.
