Why is my Vauxhall Zafira Life stalling when I come to a stop?

I've noticed that my Vauxhall Zafira Life has been stalling when I come to a stop, such as at a traffic light or stop sign. It's a manual transmission and I make sure to properly engage the clutch when I stop. What could be causing this issue and how can I fix it?

Hi Hannah, the first thing to check would be the idle control valve. This component helps regulate the idle speed of your engine and could be malfunctioning, causing the stalling. Another potential issue could be a dirty or faulty throttle body. I would suggest cleaning it and seeing if that improves the stalling. If not, it may need to be replaced.

Hello Hannah, another common culprit for stalling is a dirty or clogged air filter. Make sure to regularly check and replace your air filter if it's dirty. It's a simple and affordable fix that could solve the issue. Additionally, make sure your spark plugs are in good condition and properly gapped. If they're worn or not sparking correctly, that could also contribute to stalling.

Hi Hannah, have you noticed any other symptoms or warning lights? Sometimes a faulty crankshaft sensor can cause stalling. I would recommend having it checked and replaced if necessary. It's also a good idea to check for any vacuum leaks, as those can also lead to stalling.
