Why is the brake pedal on my Vauxhall Mokka feeling spongy?

I've noticed that the brake pedal on my Vauxhall Mokka has started to feel spongy and I'm concerned about the safety of my car. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

Spongy brakes could be caused by air bubbles in the brake lines or a leak in the brake system. It's important to get this checked out by a mechanic as soon as possible to ensure your brakes are working properly.

Another common cause of spongy brakes is brake fluid that needs to be replaced. Check your owner's manual for the recommended schedule for changing brake fluid and get it done if it's been awhile.

Make sure your brake pads are not worn down and in need of replacement. Worn brake pads can also cause a spongy feeling in the pedal. Get them checked and replaced if necessary.
