I recently noticed that the power steering in my Vauxhall Mokka is not functioning properly. Whenever I try to turn the wheel, there is a noticeable resistance and it requires more effort to turn the car. What could be causing this issue and how can it be fixed?
ReplyOne possibility could be a low power steering fluid level. Check the fluid reservoir and if it is low, top it up to the recommended level.
Another potential issue could be a faulty power steering pump. If the pump is failing, it will not provide enough pressure to assist with steering. Take the car to a mechanic to have it checked and replaced if necessary.
It is also possible that there is a problem with the power steering belt. If the belt is worn or loose, it can cause issues with the power steering system. A simple inspection and replacement of the belt can solve the problem.
