I have a Vauxhall Vivaro with a diesel engine and I've noticed that when I accelerate, the engine seems to stall and lose power. This is especially noticeable when going up hills or when I have a full load in the back. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?
ReplyIt sounds like your fuel filter may be clogged. When it gets dirty, it can restrict the flow of fuel to the engine causing it to stall. I would recommend replacing it and see if that fixes the issue.
Another possibility could be a faulty fuel pump. If it's not delivering enough fuel to the engine, it can cause stalling. I would suggest getting it checked out by a mechanic to see if it needs to be replaced.
Have you checked your air filter? A dirty air filter can also cause stalling as it restricts airflow to the engine. Try replacing it and see if that improves performance.
