What are the common causes of engine overheating in Vauxhall Astra?

I've been having issues with my Vauxhall Astra's engine overheating and I'm not sure what's causing it. I recently had the coolant flushed and refilled, but the problem still persists. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

One of the most common causes of engine overheating in Vauxhall Astra is a faulty thermostat. It could be stuck closed, preventing coolant from circulating properly.

Another common cause is a leak in the cooling system. Check for any visible leaks, such as from the radiator or hoses, and have them repaired if necessary.

A failing water pump can also result in engine overheating. If you notice any strange noises coming from the water pump or see coolant leaking from it, it may need to be replaced.

Lastly, it's always a good idea to check the radiator fan and make sure it's functioning properly. If it's not turning on consistently, it could be due to a faulty fan motor or switch.
