What are the signs of worn out brake pads in a Vauxhall Corsa?

I have been noticing some strange noises and vibrations while braking in my Vauxhall Corsa. I'm worried that it might be due to worn out brake pads. Can you tell me what are the signs of worn out brake pads and what should I do about it?

One of the most common signs of worn out brake pads is a squealing or screeching noise while applying the brakes. This is caused by the wear indicator on the brake pads, which is designed to make a noise when the pads are getting too thin.

Another sign is a grinding noise while braking, which indicates that the brake pads have completely worn out and the metal backing plate is rubbing against the rotor. This can cause damage to the rotor and should be addressed immediately.

If you notice that your brake pedal feels soft or spongy, it could be a sign of worn out brake pads. This is because the pads are not able to create enough friction to slow down the car effectively.

M

You may also notice that it takes longer to come to a complete stop when you apply the brakes, as the worn out brake pads are not able to create enough friction to bring the car to a halt quickly.

If you see that the brake pads look excessively thin, with less than 1/4 inch of pad remaining, it's a clear sign that they need to be replaced.
