Why does my Vauxhall Insignia stall when I come to a complete stop?

I have a 2012 Vauxhall Insignia and for the past month, it's been stalling whenever I come to a complete stop. It's really frustrating and dangerous, especially when I'm at a busy intersection. What could be causing this issue and how can I fix it?

There are a few potential reasons why your Vauxhall Insignia may be stalling when you come to a complete stop.

Firstly, it could be due to a dirty or faulty idle air control valve. This valve controls the idle speed of the engine and if it's not functioning properly, it can cause stalling. I would recommend getting it checked and possibly replaced by a mechanic.

Another possibility is a clogged fuel filter. Over time, the fuel filter can become clogged with debris and dirt, affecting the fuel flow to the engine. This can result in stalling or a rough idle. I would suggest getting the fuel filter replaced as a preventative maintenance measure.

Lastly, it could be an issue with the throttle body. If the throttle body is dirty or malfunctioning, it can cause stalling when the car comes to a stop. You can try cleaning the throttle body yourself, but if the issue persists, it's best to take it to a mechanic for further diagnosis.
