Why does my Vauxhall Zafira Life have a rough ride on uneven roads?

I recently bought a used Vauxhall Zafira Life and have noticed that it has a very rough ride on uneven roads. I'm not sure if this is normal for this car, or if there is something wrong with the suspension. Any advice on how to improve the ride quality?
