Why is my Vauxhall Astra making strange noises when I turn the steering wheel?

I've noticed that my Vauxhall Astra is making a strange noise whenever I turn the steering wheel. It sounds like a high-pitched squeal and I'm not sure what could be causing it. Can anyone give me some advice on what might be causing this issue?

Hi John, the strange noise you are hearing when you turn the steering wheel could be coming from your power steering pump. It might need to be replaced. I recommend taking it to a mechanic for further inspection.

John, the noise you are hearing could also be caused by a loose belt or a leak in your power steering system. I suggest checking these components and getting them fixed if needed.

It's possible that the noise is coming from the steering linkage or tie rod ends. They may need to be lubricated or replaced. I advise taking your car to a trusted mechanic for a thorough inspection.
