Why is my Vauxhall Astra's engine making a knocking noise?

I have noticed a knocking noise coming from my Vauxhall Astra's engine recently. It seems to happen more often when I am accelerating. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

Karen, there could be a few reasons why your engine is making a knocking noise. It could be due to low oil levels, worn out engine bearings, or spark knock. I suggest checking your oil levels first and if they are low, top it up and see if the noise goes away. If not, you may need to take your car to a mechanic for further diagnosis.

Hi Karen, I had a similar issue with my Vauxhall Astra and it turned out to be a faulty fuel injector. I would recommend getting it checked out by a professional as soon as possible to prevent any further damage to your engine.

Hey Karen, have you recently switched to a lower grade fuel? If so, that could be causing the knocking noise. I suggest using a higher octane fuel and see if that makes a difference. Also, make sure to follow the recommended fuel type for your car as stated in the owner's manual.
