Why is my Vauxhall Corsa making a clicking noise when I turn the key?

I just bought a used Vauxhall Corsa and every time I turn the key, there is a loud clicking noise coming from the engine. The car still starts and runs fine, but I'm worried that there could be a bigger issue at hand. Can anyone shed some light on this?
