Why is my Vauxhall Insignia engine overheating?

I recently noticed that my Vauxhall Insignia's engine is overheating after a long drive. The temperature gauge goes into the red zone. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

One possible cause could be a malfunctioning thermostat, which regulates the engine's temperature. It could be stuck closed, causing the engine to overheat. I suggest getting it checked and replaced if necessary.

Another possibility is a leak in the cooling system, causing a loss of coolant. Check for any visible leaks or dripping under the car. It's important to address this issue before it causes serious damage to your engine.

It could also be an issue with the radiator, such as a clogged or damaged radiator fan. This can prevent proper air flow and lead to overheating. Have a mechanic inspect the radiator and fan for any issues.

Make sure to check your engine oil level as well. Low oil levels can cause the engine to heat up. If you notice that the oil level is low, top it up and monitor it closely to see if the overheating persists.
