Why is my Vauxhall Mokka making a strange knocking noise?

I recently purchased a Vauxhall Mokka and have noticed a strange knocking noise coming from the engine. It seems to happen more when I am accelerating and when the engine is cold. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

Hi John, it's common for cars, especially new ones, to make a knocking noise when the engine is cold. This is usually due to old or low-quality engine oil. I would recommend getting an oil change and using a high-quality oil to see if that improves the noise. If it persists, it could be a more serious issue and I would advise taking it to a mechanic for further diagnosis.

Hi John, another common cause of a knocking noise in the Vauxhall Mokka is a worn timing chain. This part helps keep the engine's valves and pistons moving in sync, and when it becomes worn it can cause a loud knocking sound. I would suggest taking your car to a mechanic for a thorough inspection and potential replacement of the timing chain.

Hi John, I had a similar issue with my Vauxhall Mokka and it turned out to be a faulty fuel injector. This part is responsible for delivering fuel to the engine and when it malfunctions it can create a knocking noise. I would recommend taking your car to a mechanic to have the fuel injectors checked and replaced if necessary.
