Why is my Vauxhall Mokka's engine making a loud knocking noise?

My Vauxhall Mokka's engine has started to make a loud knocking noise when I accelerate. It didn't use to do this before and I'm worried it might be a sign of a bigger problem. Can anyone help me diagnose and fix this issue?

Hi Jim, a loud knocking noise from the engine could be caused by a few different issues. It's best to take your car to a mechanic to have it properly diagnosed. It could be something simple like a loose belt or it could be a more serious issue like a problem with the pistons. It's always better to be safe and have a professional take a look.

Hey Jim, a common cause of a loud knocking noise in the engine is low oil levels. Check your oil levels and top up if needed. If that doesn't solve the issue, it's best to have a mechanic take a look.

Hi Jim, the loud knocking noise could be due to a problem with the engine's timing chain. This is a more serious issue and should be addressed by a mechanic as soon as possible to avoid further damage to the engine. Don't wait too long to address this issue!
