How do I know if my Vauxhall Corsa's engine needs an oil change?

I recently bought a used Vauxhall Corsa and I'm not sure if it's time for an oil change. What are the signs that my engine needs an oil change? Is it based on mileage or time since the last change?

Caroline, it's always a good idea to check your owner's manual for specific recommendations. However, as a general rule, most cars need an oil change every 5,000-7,500 miles or every 6 months, whichever comes first. If your Corsa has reached this interval, it's time for an oil change.

Caroline, another way to tell if your engine needs an oil change is by checking the color and level of the oil. If it appears dark and/or low, it's time for a change. However, keep in mind that oil can still appear clean and be low on quality, so it's best to follow the recommended intervals.

Hey Caroline, listening to your car can also give you an indication if it needs an oil change. If you hear any unusual engine noises or your car is not running as smoothly as before, it may be time for a change. Don't ignore these signs and visit a trusted mechanic for an inspection.
