Why does my Vauxhall Corsa make a squealing noise when I start it?

I've noticed that my Vauxhall Corsa makes a loud squealing noise when I start the engine. It seems to go away after a few seconds, but I'm concerned that it might be a sign of a bigger problem. Can anyone tell me what might be causing this and if I should be worried?

It sounds like your serpentine belt might be loose or worn out. This could be causing the squealing noise when you start the car. It's important to get this fixed as soon as possible, as a worn out belt can lead to further damage in your engine.

Check your battery connections. Sometimes if they are loose or corroded, it can cause the starter to make a squealing noise when starting the car. You can try cleaning the connections or tightening them to see if that helps.

I had the same issue with my Vauxhall Corsa and it turned out to be a faulty alternator. It's best to get it checked by a mechanic to be sure. If the alternator is not working properly, it can cause damage to other components in your car.
